Paul qualified as a solicitor in 1990, having commenced his working career in 1988 as an apprentice solicitor in his father’s law firm, Reddy Charlton & McKnight Solicitors in Dublin. Wanting to expand his career opportunities, he joined the Quinn Group in Cavan in 1996 and established their in-house legal department. In 1997, he joined the law firm Augustus Cullen & Son solicitors with responsibility for running their Greystones branch. In 2003, this branch office was acquired by Paul and Mark Felton and it was renamed Felton McKnight solicitors.
Paul, who was recently elected as President of the Wicklow Solicitors Bar Association, is a very experienced solicitor and has acquired an extensive knowledge of the law over the last three decades. He is a strong advocate of continuing professional development, as it greatly enhances the ability of solicitors to adapt to the continually evolving needs of their clients. Paul has undertaken many such legal and diploma courses. He also holds a First Class Honours Masters of Law Degree from University College Dublin where he studied areas such as Corporate Governance, White Collar Crime, Media Regulation, Insolvency, Law of the European Court of Human Rights and Environmental Law.

In regard to marital disputes, Paul is also a qualified Collaborative Family Law solicitor. This model of resolution focuses on the parties’ interests, lessens hostility between them and most importantly reduces the negative impact on children.
